OnePlus recently confirmed that it will launch the OnePlus TV in September this year. OnePlus TV has been certified by Google and will be using Android TV. The latest listing has confirmed other specifications of the upcoming OnePlus TV.
The upcoming OnePlus TV has been spotted on Google Play Developer console wherein it has been codenamed “Dosa.” The codename is likely referring to OnePlus TV which is set to go official in India next month.
According to @AndroidTV_Rumor the listing confirms OnePlus TV specifications. To begin with, the device will run Android 9 Pie. Furthermore, the TV is expected to be powered by MediaTek MT5670 processor and a quad-core chipset coupled with 2GB of RAM. On the graphics front, the OnePlus TV will be fitted with Mali-G51 MP3 GPU. As we already know the OnePlus TV is likely to sport a 55-inch 4K panel. That being said, OnePlus TV will also be available in other sizes as well.
OnePlus is expected to launch only one variant of the OnePlus TV in India. The company is also rumored to launch the OnePlus 7T in India weeks before releasing it in other markets. Needless to say, India is an important market for OnePlus.
The OnePlus One disrupted smartphone market with class-leading specifications and a price tag of a mid-range device. Several iterations later, OnePlus is still able to serve the customers with high-end specs at a price lower than that of flagships. In all likelihood, the company will follow a similar strategy with OnePlus TV. Moreover, the upcoming OnePlus TV will not only rival Mi TV but also other brands like Samsung and LG.
