On November 13, Google officially published the Android 5.0 factory images for the Nexus 5, 7 and 10. While the Nexus 4 was initially left out of the party, the older Nexus handset is finally joining the Lollipop army.
On Friday, November 14, Google published the Android 5.0 factory image for the Nexus 4, making it possible for some owners to upgrade directly to the latest version of the mobile operating system. However, as is par for the course with these types of upgrade options, owners will have to use the command line to flash the update directly. Also, updating the Nexus 4 with this factory image will also completely wipe the device in question, so keep that in mind.
If an owner does upgrade with the factory image, though, it will load build LRX21T onto the device. If waiting is more to your liking, the over the air (OTA) update will hopefully be landing soon.
