For those who thought the Desire 610 would disappear quietly into the night, that doesn’t look like it will be the case. The device is back in the news mix, as a leaked image of the device suggests it could launch for a major wireless carrier in the United States.
The Desire 610 from HTC originally showcased its mid-range specs back in February, during Mobile World Congress. If you need a refresher, the Desire 610 features a 4.7-inch display with a resolution of 960×540. There’s a 1.2GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor and 1GB of RAM, along with 8GB of built-in storage (which can be expanded with a microSD card). It’s running Android 4.3 Jelly Bean, along with HTC’s proprietary Sense UI. It does support 4G LTE, for those who need that extra speed. On the back, you’ll find an 8-megapixel camera, and a 1.3MP camera on the front. The battery comes in at 2,040mAh.
Now, according to serial leaker @evleaks, the Big Blue network, AT&T, is gearing up to launch the Desire 610 at some point in the future. As you can see from the image above there isn’t any blatant AT&T branding to look at, but you can see AT&T’s 4G LTE network indicator, as well as some AT&T-specific apps hidden away in those folders on the home screen.
As far as a release date or pricing? No word quite yet, but hopefully AT&T’s gearing up to launch the handset soon. Considering its specs, and the price tag attached to the high-end One M8, the Desire 610 should come in pretty low. Is this a device that piques your interest at all?[via @evleaks]
