Xiaomi’s Redmi Note series has been a smashing hit in India thanks to their perfect balance of performance, features, and value for money. With the Redmi Note 6 Pro, the story is no different. One question that many potential Redmi Note 6 Pro owners are asking is whether the device features any sort of Quick Charging or not.
Unlike previous Redmi Note devices including the Redmi Note 5 Pro, Xiaomi is clearly highlighting support for Quick Charge on the Redmi Note 6 Pro. What’s even better is that the Redmi Note 6 Pro has support for Quick Charge 3.0 and not Quick Charge 2.0 like its predecessors. This means one can charge their Redmi Note 6 Pro to 50 percent in just 30 minutes.
There’s one catch though. Xiaomi does not bundle a Quick Charge 3.0 charger with the device. Instead, it bundles its usual 5V/2A charger which will take upwards of 2 hours to charge the device from 0-100. So to enjoy Quick Charge speeds on the Redmi Note 6 Pro, one would need to invest in a charger separately which can turn out to be quite expensive. Thankfully, Xiaomi itself has a solution to this problem. The company sells a Quick Charge 3.0 charger in India for as low as Rs 449 ($7) which is quite a steal.
Given that the Redmi Note 6 Pro offers excellent battery life, some people might not think that it is worth investing in a Quick Charge 3.0 charger. However, once you get used to the faster charging speeds offered by Quick Charge 3.0 on your Redmi Note 6 Pro, there’s no going back.
Do note that your Redmi Note 6 Pro might get a bit warm when charged with a Quick Charge 3.0 charger but that should not be a cause of concern.Like this post? Share it!
