Samsung today made the Gear Fit2 Pro official, its latest sports oriented wearable. Taking a cue from the Apple Watch Series 2, the Gear Fit2 Pro is rated to be water-resistant in up to 50m of water.
The fitness wearable also features a 1.5-inch slightly curved OLED display with a resolution of 216 x 432, Bluetooth 4.2, 4GB of internal storage, accelerometer, heart rate scanner, barometer, dedicated GPS chip, and a 20mAh battery. Samsung says that the Gear Fit 2 Pro can last for up to 3-4 days with typical use. However, using the GPS can reduce its battery life to only 9 hours.
To help you keep motivated, the Gear Fit2 Pro comes with UA Record, MapMyRun, MyFitnessPal, and Endomondo apps which help you track your exercises, the food you eat, and more. It is capable of tracking your swimming sessions thanks to a new Speedo app.
In addition, there are over 3,000 apps and watch faces available for the Gear Fit 2 Pro, including Spotify, in its dedicated App Store. The somewhat vast library of apps is available for the fitness wearable since it runs on Tizen.
The Samsung Gear Fit2 Pro will be available with a price tag of $199 in the US.Like this post? Share it!
