Android Wear 2.0 Will Arrive ‘in Early February 2017’

Google needed a bit more time to get Android Wear 2.0 ready for the public, so it delayed the launch until sometime in early 2017.

The wait is almost over, according to a report from Android Police. In an email sent out to Google Play developers by Google, it has been confirmed that Android Wear 2.0 will launch to the public “in early February 2017.” Unfortunately the email doesn’t provide any additional information, so while we now have a specific month to look forward to, we’re still missing a date to circle on the calendar.

The email itself is simply a primer for developers, letting them know that Android Wear 2.0 is right around the corner. Some developers are being notified that their app needs to be updated to support the upcoming mobile operating system.

Google has also confirmed, separately, that it will be launching two flagship smartwatches alongside Android Wear 2.0. That means the company should be getting ready to unveil those wearables here shortly.
