Four days ago, Google officially announced a big reveal for October 4, where it’s believed they’ll announce the Pixel and Pixel XL smartphones.

According to a report from Android Police, Google is planning on introducing another device at the event as well. If the report pans out, Google will introduce “Google Wi-Fi,” which is an in-home Wi-Fi router that will cost $129. The information was gathered from an unnamed, but “reliable source,” and says that Google will also be introducing the Pixel phones, Google Home, and the “Chromecast Ultra” 4K-capable streaming device.

The new Google WiFi router will reportedly offer better range over competing routers, and offer “smart features.” The source also stated that if an establishment connects to Google WiFi routers together, then it will create a “large wireless network.” Unfortunately the source didn’t have any information as to how it works.

October 4 is shaping up to be a busy day for Google.

Interesting. Looking forward to Google’s October 4th event.

  • Any updates on this one? I hope this arrives in Australia. Missed out on Google’s Smart Wi-Fi router last year.
