Rumored HTC Marlin and Sailfish Nexus phone design revealed in render

The next Nexus-branded smartphones aren’t official just yet, but rumor has it that there will be two this year, and they’ll both be manufactured by HTC.

We’ve recently seen reported what the specifications for both devices, codenamed the Sailfish and Marlin, and now, thanks to Android Police, we’re getting a solid look at what the handsets will look like. We’ve heard in the past that both devices will share the same overall design, so seeing one render to represent both devices isn’t out of the ordinary.

We can see that the handsets will look sleek, with a two-tone design. That upper-section of the handset will either be a glossy plastic or glass, and there will be a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor installed. Interestingly enough there is a distinct “G” logo down near the bottom edge, but the report states that the Google logo might not make the final cut.

Another noteworthy aspect of the handset is the rear camera, which doesn’t appear to have a bump this time around, and will instead sit flush with the case. There are sensors on the front, a front-facing camera, and the earpiece as we’d expect.

There will be at least two models to choose from: the dark gray/black model we see here, and an aluminum frame with a white front. The report also states that Google is working on an “electric blue” variant, which will feature a blue back and a white front, but it might not launch to the public.

What do you think of the new design?
