Who said Android couldn’t be super secure? Sirin Labs believes it has created not only the most secure Android ever made, but also the most secure smartphone you can buy today. But for that peace of mind, it’s going to cost you just under $15,000.
The Sirin Solarin has all the security features you could want in a phone, including continuous threat protection from Zimperium, encrypted email from ProtonMail, and a security shield from KoolSpan that offers military-grade AES-256 encryption for secure calls.
Combines, these things make the Solarin more secure than any other smartphone on the market, according to Sirin. But it’s not just the security that’s high-end; everything else inside the Solarin is cutting-edge, so you don’t have to sacrifice performance for privacy.
In addition to its 5.5-inch Quad HD display with Gorilla Glass 4, the Solarin packs a 2GHz Snapdragon 810 processor, 4GB of RAM, 128GB of internal storage, a 24-megapixel rear-facing camera with laser focus and optical image stabilization, and a 4,040mAh battery.
There’s also a fancy audio system that consists of three bass-boosted speakers and a smart amplifier for spectacular sound, and four microphones. The Solarin is also water-resistant, and comes in Fibre Black Carbon Titanium, Fibre Black Carbon DLC, Fibre Black Carbon Yellow Gold and Crystal White Carbon DLC.
That all sounds incredibly exciting, but don’t plan to make the Solarin your next smartphone just yet. To get one, you’ll need at least $14,800 plus taxes, which could buy you around 24 Galaxy S7 handsets.
Of course, the Solarin isn’t designed for the average consumer. Instead, it’s aimed at business leaders and government officials who can’t afford for their security to be compromised — in which case, $14,800 is a small price to pay.
If you want to pick up a Solarin, you can order one from Sirin’s online store.
