Acer announced its latest addition to its Iconia range of Android tablets at CES 2016 in Las Vegas today: the Iconia One 8. The tablet has been priced a mere $99 and features internals that suits its price.
The front of the tablet houses an 8-inch IPS panel, with a likely resolution of 1280×800. Under the hood, the Iconia One 8 houses a quad-core chipset from MediaTek, 1GB of DDR3L RAM, 16GB storage space and a microSD card slot. There is also a 5MP shooter at the rear of the tablet and a 2MP selfie shooter at the front. Acer will launch the Iconia 8 with Android 5.1 Lollipop with its own skin running on top of it that offers parental controls and a built-in Kids Center.
The Iconia One 8 will be making its way to the United States this February for $99. It will be available in blue and white colors.
With tablet sales slowing down and Android tablets only being able to dominate in the lower end of the spectrum, it is not surprising to see Acer focus on releasing an extremely budget oriented tablet.Like this post? Share it!
