Surprise surprise! Someone has just uploaded a 7-minute video on YouTube showing off the new Nexus 5 that is, evidently, running an older version of Android 4.4 KitKat.
It is quite clear from the video that the handset in the video is an early prototype build with below par fit and finish. The Android 4.4 KitKat version running on the device is also quite old, since it is still being identified as ‘KeyLimePie’ in the About Phone screen.
Anyways, the video shows off the new home screen with larger icons, a re-designed app drawer without a Widgets tab, and the re-designed status bar icons. However, it does not show off the new Google Experience launcher, as posted by Android Police here, the transparent navigation bar and some redesigned icons.
The ‘About Screen’ of the device confirms the presence of a Snapdragon S800 (MSMS8974), and a 16GB variant. The lack of a ‘Messaging’ app also confirms that Google will finally be integrating SMS and MMS into Hangouts with KitKat.
Apart from the above, the video does not really show off any of the rumored features to be included in Android 4.4 KitKat.
